The Hermit of Inglismaldie

On August 6, 2017 (I know I’m a bit behind!) my mom, my friend, and I wanted to find the hermit cabin near Banff and we did!

The hike to the cabin is pretty easy, it’s just along Johnson Lake.

Emerald Lake Hike & Natural Land Bridge, Yoho National Park, BC

For my mom’s birthday, on July 15, she really wanted to hike around Emerald Lake. We had never been before and I was quite excited to photograph the blue water! The weekend before we had done the hike to Laughing Falls, so it seems we were on the theme of Yoho National Park!Β  (more…)

Hell’s Gate, British Columbia

In the summer of 2015 my mom, my friend, and I drove out from Calgary, Alberta to White Rock, British Columbia. We made a few stops along the way and one of them was to Hell’s Gate AirtramΒ . This was a unique experience and would definitely recommend stopping, if you are willing to go a bit our of your way.

The sign at the beginning says,

“A man’s legacy:Β The early explorer Simon Fraser documented his death defying journey to the Pacific Ocean. This section of the Fraser River over 1000 feet below you was compared in Simon’s journal to ‘the gates of hell’ because of its thundering rapids and terrifying white water. Historians now refer to this area as Hell’s Gate.”

Ram Falls — My Saturday Adventure

Now that school is coming to a close and I was able to get most of my homework done last week, so I was able to take a break this Saturday. My mom and I went for a drive out in the country and visited Ram Falls. It was nice just to get out. I had a lot of fun and even saw wild horses for the first time!

My Love of Waterfalls…

Just thought I’d do a quick post for those of you ‘following’ my blog.

First of all, thanks for following my blog! Once school is out for the semester (April 21st is my last exam….hooray!) I will try to post more about past adventures and new ones I hope to take this summer! I am open to any recommendations you may have for exploring within the southern Alberta area πŸ™‚

I recently added another section in my photography portion of my set call “Chasing Waterfalls” (you can find it here). One of my favourite things to look at in nature is Waterfalls. I love how each is unique in its own way. I could just stare at them all day. I hope to find more waterfalls this summer and I will try to post other waterfalls I have been to, as I get more time. I just thought I would keep everyone in the loop.
