For day 6 we planned to do nothing. We were exhausted from the previous two days, so we slept in, did some laundry, and went to Golden Corral for dinner.
Then, the next day we went on another whirlwind adventure. We woke up really early and went to the Meteor Crater, Walnut Canyon, and Sedona. I will post about each one in a separate post.
First up we drove to the Meteor Crater, which was the furthest away from our hotel. I was interested in seeing an actual crater and taking some pictures. It was a unique experience, but it was a little expensive ($18/person). We personally just wanted to go see the crater and did not care to go through the whole museum or anything, so I guess if you’re into that kind of stuff then it might have been slightly more worth it. There are quite a few stairs to get to the different viewpoints and it does get hot, so wear a hat, bring water, and wear sun screen. There is a very large gift shop and Subway. Since we wanted to head straight to Walnut Canyon after we ate at Subway (they gave us a coupon for a free cookie with our tickets).
Overall, it was quite interesting to see the Meteor Crater, but like I said it was a little pricey for what it was, but is still worth seeing if you have the time. On their website it says, “Admission price includes 3 lookout points on the rim of the crater, telescopes on the viewing platforms, guided rim tour (weather permitting), an Interactive Discovery Center, theater showing the movie “IMPACT” twice per hour, as well as a guided tour on the rim of the crater”.
