Day 3 Arizona Vacation: Salt Water River

Today was more of a relaxing day. First, we got up to make it to the Salt River by 9am.

We brought our own double tube and portable miniature pump. We did stop 1-2, which is about 2 hours. We would’ve went further but my legs were starting to feel like they were burning, even though I applied sunscreen multiple times, but sometimes these things happen. We didn’t take my camera or our phones since we didn’t want to drop them in, so these photos are from a cheap version of a GoPro.

I would definitely recommend going down the river to cool down, but be prepared there are a few spots with rapids. If you do decide to go you should bring lots of water, snacks, sunscreen, a hat, and other things to protect you from the sun.

There is also a place you can rent tubes (bring old towels to put on them since the tubes are black) and there is also a snack bar where you can buy snacks, life jackets, bus passes (for two passes it cost us $30), etc. I would recommend getting there early so it’s not as hot and crowded.

After tubing we went back to our hotel for a nap (we love naps! haha) and then we went to Sonic for Dinner since we weren’t super hungry. Then we went home and to bed since we were leaving bright and early for the Grand Canyon!

Thanks for reading my blog!

  1. Arizona equals cacti 🙂 I love cacti, and I have a few (though nearly not as large as in Arizona, duh.), which get pink flowers, if it’s hot long enough. Looks like you had a good time, there 🙂
