Day 2 Arizona Vacation: Desert Botanical Gardens, Aquarium, and Arizona Mills Mall

Please note: I will post my camera photos later, but I will post cell phone pictures now.

We woke up at 6:15 am for this day! We wanted to go to the Desert Botanical Garden, but we knew it was going to get HOT later in the day. Luckily, the gardens opened at 7am.

The garden cost $24.95 each. What was nice was when I was about to pay the lady behind me stepped up and said her pass comes with a free guest so I could be her guest. I was so shocked and thankful.

There are quite a few gardens to look in. And we did quite a few of them (not all of them as we had other places we wanted to go and it got hot).

My overall review of the garden:

  • Atmosphere: 5/5
  • Value: 4/5
  • Staff: 5/5
  • Overall: 4.67/5

Next we were planning to go the Hole in the Rock, but we decided to save that for a different day.

Instead, we headed to the Arizona Mills Mall. For all my Canadian followers it’s very similar in layout and style as Cross Iron Mills. We were there before it opened so we found a washroom and then by chance found these fancy massage chairs you could pay to get a massage. So we did that until everything opened.

Then we went to Johnny Rocket’s for lunch. My mom had never been and I had gone while at Universal Studios in California. I had a delicious burger and yam fries as well as a Strawberry Oreo Shake. We also shared potato fritters that were covered in bacon, cheese, and green onions.

My review of Johnny Rocket’s:

  • Food: 4/5
  • Atmosphere: 5/5
  • Value: 5/5
  • Staff: 5/5
  • Overall: 4.75/5

After lunch, we went to the aquarium in the mall. We bought our tickets online so we saved $5.00 each. So it cost $14.99 each. It was quite busy and it was slightly annoying having to wait in the ticket line when we had already bought our tickets. On the ticket it had said you got to go in a different line but there was no other line and we asked a staff member and he said we needed to still stand in the regular line. Overall, it was a good experience and all the sea creatures were so cute! I would rate this experience a 4/5.

After the aquarium we walked around did some shopping (went to my favourite store: Burlington!). Then we decided to go to the movie theatre inside the mall. We saw Hotel Transylvania 3. It was pretty cute and the movie was a matinee so it was only $8.00.

After that we went to Joe’s Crabshack for Dinner it was so good!

My review of Joe’s Crabshack:

  • Food: 5/5
  • Value: 4/5
  • Staff: 5/5
  • Atmosphere: 5/5
  • Overall: 4.75/5

After that we went swimming and then to bed.

Thanks for reading my blog!
