Day 5: Birthday at Disney California Adventure

**This is a post from my old blog on TravelPod, but I have imported the content to my new blog!**

First off I would like to thank everyone for your lovely comments. I do read each and every one of them and truly appreciate that you all take time to comment.

Today was my 19th Birthday and what’s a better way to spend it than at Disney?!

Dessert at Ariel’s Grotto

We started off this morning by eating lunch with some Disney princesses at “Ariel’s Grotto”. The staff there were wonderful and the food was divine. We got to of course meet Ariel, which my cousin thought was very exciting and was sure to tell her that my name was also Ariel.

When you first come in for the meal (I would recommend making a reservation)
you get to meet and take photos with Ariel. After you have been sat different
princesses who are guests that day are introduced. The princesses we got to see
were Mulan, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and Belle. As well because it was my
Birthday I got a special Birthday cupcake.

After lunch we hit up some rides. There were so many different activities that we did that I will just tell you a bit about my few favourites if I wrote about everything ride we went on it would fill a novel.

My favourite ride would have to be the Ferris Wheel. Now I know that sounds boring, but I just loved being able to see out to the whole park and this ride was not only a Ferris Wheel, but the little containers (I don’t know the proper name) that everyone sits in rock back and fourth. If you were at the proper angle the container rocked back and fourth
quite far. This ride is not for those who are scared of heights or who get sick easy.

My other favourite attraction would have to be the Toy Story ride where you ride around in a little car wearing 3D glasses and shooting at different targets (not actually shooting of course) and at the end you find out your score.

Those two attractions are my top two. Of course I went on many rides and enjoyed them all, but if I had to pick those ones were pretty great.

If you ever go to Disneyland on your Birthday or if it is your first time make sure you tell the people in gift shops they will have free pins for you. I got one for my Birthday and every cast member took time to say Happy Birthday to me.

Another part of the parks that I really enjoy is the fact that at all of the characters you can get photos and there are professional photographers at the location who take your photo. At the end you can view your photos and decide whether or not to purchase any. This is a great idea if you are not great at taking photos, it is difficult to get a picture, or you just want a high quality photo.

All in all this was a pretty spectacular Birthday for me. I cannot wait to head to Disneyland tomorrow (stay tuned).

My Review Of The Place I’ve Seen

Disney’s California Adventure Anaheim

“So Magical!”

I loved the variety of rides available. There was something for everyone. There are lots of cute little gift shops and many places to eat. I would highly recommend coming here, but I do recommend planning out the activities you would like to do in advance.
